End Use and Function

The vessel sealing device is designed for laparoscopic and open surgical procedures. Its articulated assembly improves access, precision, and control in confined and complex anatomical regions.

Fabrication

The assembly includes a jaw, end-tool hub, pitch hub, pulley, and actuator hub. Multi-cavity hot-tip molds, pin or edge gates, and multiple slides create thin walls and undercuts. Controlled debinding, dedicated sintering setters, glass-bead blasting, age hardening, and passivation establish dimensional stability, surface quality, corrosion resistance, and cleanliness.

Results

MIM consolidates intricate features across five coordinated components while simplifying production and reducing waste. The resulting system maintains alignment and controlled motion throughout full articulation, supporting improved surgical access and handling.
